3 Arrested With AK 47s In Kpandai

Suspects Thomas Legi, Ugajah Kpajah and Kofi Kpajah 

The Kpandai Divisional Police Command has arrested three suspects for illegally possessing firearms and ammunition in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region.

The three suspects – Thomas Legi, Ugajah Kpajah and Kofi Kpajah – were arrested by the police in the area upon a tip-off.

The Kpandai Police Commander, DSP Francis Akwasi Asante, who confirmed the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, said they had information that some youth in the area were arguing about a rifle.

He said police personnel were dispatched to the scene to arrest two of the suspects- Thomas Legi and Ugajah Kpajah.

When a search was conducted in the room of Thomas Legi, the police found nine rounds of ammunition in a black bag.

He indicated that further investigation revealed that the rifle was in the possession of Kofi Kpajah.

DSP Francis disclosed that the team stormed the house of Ugajah Kpajah’s uncle and arrested him, but nothing was found in his room.

Kofi Kpajah later led the police to a nearby bush to retrieve the AK47 rifle.

The Kpandai Police Commander said the three suspects would be arraigned after investigation.
