PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO has appointed 13 persons to act as chief executive officers (CEOs) and deputy CEOs of the Coastal, Middle Belt and Northern Development Authorities.
For the Coastal Development Authority, the appointees are Samuel Attah-Mensah of Citi Fm, who is to act as CEO, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Bob-Charles Agbontor, Mona Gertrude Effah and Emmanuel Afram Anim, all deputies.
The Middle Belt Development Authority has Joe Danquah, former MP for Tain in the Brong-Ahafo Region, as its acting CEO. He is to have as his deputies Joyce Opoku-Boateng, Vincent Frimpong Manu and Alexander Ferka.
With regards to the Northern Development Authority, Alhaji Abdel-Majeed Haroun, a former deputy minister under the Kufuor administration, is the acting CEO with Lariba Zuweira Abudu, Osmani Aludiba Ayuba and Stephen Yir-Eru Engmen, as deputies.
A release issued by Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin, explained that the above-mentioned individuals were appointed in accordance with applicable laws.
“The appointees are to act pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing boards of the development authorities, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” the release indicated.
It added, “The three development authorities are tasked with the implementation of the infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (PEP) – the programme which will ensure the disbursement of the equivalent of $1 million per constituency per year, in fulfillment of President Akufo-Addo’s 2016 campaign pledge.”
