World title hopeful, Patrick Allotey has said plainly that his visit to the national Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Sharabutu has inspired him to go the extra mile in his first title defense scheduled for this weekend.

Allotey, in the company of Cabic Promotions management and members of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) left Chief Imam’s Palace at Fadaman yesterday highly motivated.

To the current WBO Africa Super Welterweight Champion, the inspiring words of Dr Sharabutu has added a bite to his training and promised to return the belt to the Muslim leader.

On Saturday, Mamprobi-based Allotey will battle Uganda’s Badru Lusambya as the main bout in the ‘Cabic Big Night Fight’ at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Chief Imam offered special prayers for Allotey and the other Ghanaian boxers, who would be doing battle on the same bill.

The religious leader urged the boxers to be focused, disciplined, work hard and remain positive minded before and after the fight.

Elated Allotey said “I thank God for the honour of seeing the National Chief Imam in person today. I must say I’m blessed and extra motivated by this special honour done me. I will do everything possible to win on Saturday and present the title to his Eminence the National Chief Imam afterwards.”

The Chief Imam expressed gross gratitude to the boxer and his team for honouring him with the visit.

A delegation from the Office of the National Chief Imam is expected at the ringside of the Bukom Boxing Arena this Saturday for the fight.
