Fake Chief Grabbed For Fraud

Nana Ali, who posed as the Zaminama Chief of Amasaman and spiritualist, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defrauding a certain man to the tune of GH¢7,000.

The suspect, who has built his shrine at Abrono, suburb of Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, allegedly defrauded the man to the tune of GH¢7,000 under the pretext of doubling the money.

Chief Supt Francis Yiribaare, the Amasaman District Police Commander, who confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE, said Samuel Akufo Abrokwa, 26, lodged a complaint to the police against the self-styled spiritualist.

Supt Chief Yiribaare said, “The suspect, who claimed to be a registered spiritualist, then convinced the victim to give him the above-mentioned money to double it for him but end up converting it into fake dollars.”

According to the police chief, several complaints were filed against the suspect, adding that he ordered his men to arrest him in an uncompleted building at Abrono.

“We are currently investigation him, we have asked his family to bring the licence to prove if he had been licensed. After investigations he will put him before court for prosecution. I am appealing to the general public to provide us with other information about him,” Chief Supt Yiribaare stated.

The Amasaman police chief therefore cautioned the general public, especially the youth, to desist from going to spiritualists to double money for them.
