Film Screening At Goethe- Institut

Roland Sumani Seini

A documentary film titled ‘The Forgotten Kingdom Chronicles of the North’ by Roland Sumani Seini will be screened at the Goethe-Institut in Accra on Thursday, September 6.

The film is a story of Naa Gbewa, a prince and cavalry man who established his empire in the area of modern day Ghana, Burkina Faso and Togo.

It reveals how he became the first king and introduced chieftaincy as a system of government in this region while dilating on how his empire grew and finally fell apart.

A researcher, self-taught filmmaker and founder of Chaka Orleans Heritage Foundation, Seini’s passion is to re-document African history from an African perspective while empowering the youth through education and self-awareness.

His objective is to document past events and use research as a vehicle towards promoting peace in Northern Ghana through education.

He is keen on promoting the fact that Northern Ghanaians have one common ancestry, thereby, helping to encourage unity and togetherness. Goethe-Institut Ghana is sponsoring the screening, which will also include a question and answer session with the director.
