Celebrated Nigerian comedian Godwin Komone, popularly known as Gordons, has explained why Nigerian entertainers and event organisers love to work in Ghana.
According to him, they love to organise shows in Ghana not because they are being “sacked” from their country but because they love Ghanaians.
Ghanaians, he also added, “don’t give stress.”
Gordons was performing on Saturday at the Opa Williams Nite of Thousand Laughs comedy show in Accra when he took some time off his performance to make the statement.
“The reason why Nigerians come to Ghana to do show is not because they are sacking us from Lagos; it is because we love this country so much. They give us an opportunity for some us to come and leave here forever, because we like you people. Ghanaians don’t give stress,” he said.
His comment comes not long after top Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde hailed Ghana’s economy over that of Nigeria, leading to a lot debate among Nigerians and Ghanaians over which of the two countries is better than the other.
Gordon’s posture on stage in Accra seemed to urge Ghanaians not to hate Nigerians because they are all brothers and sisters.
He was among some of Africa’s celebrated comedians who thrilled audience at the Opa Williams Nite of Thousand Laughs comedy show in Accra at the International Conference Centre (AICC) on December 1.
They gave audience a dose of ‘rib splitting’ performances.
The rest of the comedians were DKB, Jacinta, Akpororo and Go Save.
There were also music performances from Kidi, Victor AD and others. The show was the first of its kind in Ghana, and organisers used the night to also honour KSM for his contributions to African comedy.
