Stonebwoy Not Worried Over ‘Bhim Concert’ Brouhaha

Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy says he will still go ahead and perform at his upcoming ‘Bhim Concert’ even if only one music fan attends the concert.

The BET award winner’s annual event will take place on December 28 at the Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra.

The concert will also have international reggae group from Jamaica Morgan Heritage perform in Ghana for the first time.

But the concert has been hit with controversies days after Stonebwoy announced the event on social media.

His label mate and arch-rival, Shatta Wale, according to reports, is also organising a ‘Thanksgiving Concert’ on the same day.

Most music observers NEWS-ONE spoke with are worried that could badly affect patronage for Stonebwoy’s show.

Others also think Shatta Wale deliberately wants to run down his fellow musician whom he has been beefing with some time now.

But speaking at the Bhim Concert’s launch on Friday evening at Oasis Pool Lounge, Cantonment, Stonebwoy sounded quite unperturbed about Shatta Wale’s move.

“I understand music so much so that if one person comes to the Dome on the 28 that person will be the luckiest person to get all these performances for themselves only,” he said.

He continued, “Because I travel outside Ghana to play shows for people who I know nothing about. The last tour I did didn’t find me concentrating on Ghanaian artistes; I did the Summer Jam, … I did the reggae dancehall shows that will take you out of your comfort zone that you have to do what music really takes for you to do. I am sending this as a signal, after the Bhim Concert next year, God willing when we have life and we shall, we are coming for the Ghanaian market abroad.”

It’s readily not clear where Shatta Wale’s concert will take place, but it won’t be a surprise to many if he decides to stage it in front of the Trade Fair Centre, the same parameters as Stonebwoy’s event.
