Veep Turns 55

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia turned 55 yesterday and expectedly he has received a flurry of well wishers. But the most outstanding of such felicitations originated from his wife Hajia Samira Bawumia and her children.

Availing herself of social media, she tweeted her wishes and those of her children thus ‘Happy birthday from the kids and I. We continue to pray for Allah’s blessings.’

The Vice President was born on October 7, 1963, in Tamale and attended the Sakasaka Primary School in the same town before proceeding to the Tamale Secondary School where he completed in 1982.

He has a fantastic academic pedigree as well as an outstanding public service testimonial where he rose to the position of Deputy Governor of the country’s apex bank.
