YFM Rocks Accra With Area Codes Jam

YFM held its mega ‘Area Codes Jam’ at the Junction Mall, Nungua in Accra last Friday to celebrate the station’s 10 years of providing professional, entertaining and award-winning content to its listeners.

Dubbed ‘A YFM 10th Anniversary Special’, the ‘Area Codes Jam’ was part of the various activities lined up by the station to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The event, which was heavily patronised by over 20,000 music fans from all walks of life, brought together scores of some top-notch performing artistes on one stage to entertain music fans.

The much anticipated show was set in motion with performances from some upcoming stars.

It also witnessed groundbreaking performances from hiplife and dancehall heavyweight such as Kwesi Arthur, Wendy Shay, Praye, Edem, DKB, Tic, Buk Bak, Keche, AI, Captain Planet and a host of others.

Music fans who attended the event were happy to witness historic performances from all the artistes who were fantastic on stage.

The performances of stars such as Tic, Edem, Praye and Wendy Shay also attracted the needed attention, as a number of fans were seen dancing and singing along from start to finish.

Speaking about the Area Codes Jam, Eddy Blay, Programmes Manager at YFM, said, “We promised to have a big birthday party with our fans, musicians and clients at the Area Codes Jam as we celebrate our anniversary and that is exactly what we did.”

“We at YFM want to commend our loyal listeners, clients and the musicians for helping us pull off the massive birthday party,” he added.

The ‘Area Codes Jam’ was climaxed when Mr. Ernest Boateng, Chief Executive of the Global Media Alliance Group, together with the management and staff at YFM, came on stage to cut a big birthday cake to crown the event.

YFM’s ‘Area Codes Jam’ is a free annual entertainment show held in some selected communities around the country to give back to the station’s loyal listeners.
