13,000 Traders Declare For Bawumia

VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s hopes of being elected as the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on November 4 for the 2024 polls, has been given a massive boost.

A staggering number of 13,000 traders, drawn from the 26 identifiable groups in the Kumasi Central Market, have openly declared their unflinching support for Dr. Bawumia to lead the party, to retain political power.

According to the traders, they are ready and determined to use their own resources and energy to campaign freely for Dr. Bawumia to become president in 2024, stressing that the NPP delegates should vote massively for the Vice President.

Hajia Hawa Abdella, Women Organiser of the 26 identifiable groups in the Kumasi Central Market, speaking on behalf of the traders yesterday, stated that Ghanaians are yearning for Dr. Bawumia to lead the ruling NPP.

According to her, the traders meet and interact with different types of people on a daily basis, and through that, they have realised that majority of Ghanaians are eager to help Dr. Bawumia to become president in 2024.

“The nature of our job is such that we (traders) meet all kinds of people who visit the market to buy from us on a daily basis. And these people always tell us that it is their wish to see Dr. Bawumia as president of Ghana in 2024.

“Majority of the citizenry would massively vote for the NPP if the party elect Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to fill the big shoes of President Nana Akufo-Addo in order to continue with his good works,” she disclosed.

Hajia Hawa has, therefore, appealed passionately to the NPP delegates in all the 275 constituencies in the country to massively vote for Dr. Bawumia, since he is the best candidate to lead the NPP to hang onto power in 2024.

“We have influence and Dr. Bawumia is our preferred choice to lead the NPP for the 2024 polls. Without Bawumia we will not vote in 2024 because he is our choice. He is the only person who can ‘break the eight’ for NPP.

“Aside his competence and hardworking nature, Dr. Bawumia is marketable and also appeals to everybody, so he should be given the chance to lead the NPP to ‘break the eight’ in 2024,” Hajia Hawa stated.

She also advised supporters of the presidential aspirants to refrain from indulging in politics of insults and insinuations, reminding them that the election is an internal affair.

Nana Yaa Oforiwaa, the Yam Sellers Queenmother in Kumasi Central Market, described Dr. Bawumia as a caring leader, recounting how he came to the aid of the Race Course traders when their bridge collapsed.

“We appealed to the Vice President’s office when our bridge virtually became a death trap, and he quickly intervened for the bridge to be fixed to help save lives. This is a mark of a visionary and caring leader,” she opined.

Adiza Zongo Pioneer, the Leader of Head Porters in Kumasi (Kayayie), on her part, appealed to the NPP delegates to vote for Dr. Bawumia since he is the preferred choice of majority of Ghanaians to lead NPP to victory.

She also called for peace and unity in the party, saying, “Insults will make it difficult for us to unite after the polls, so I’m appealing to NPP delegates to embrace peace to help us win the 2024 election.”
