Two persons have been picked up by the Ghana Police Service in connection with the death of American Instagram model, Julie Diane Williams, popularly known as Tyger Booty.
According to official police statement issued Friday December 31, 2021, Tyger Booty was found unconscious in her room at the Rayporsh Hotel in Abelenkpe, a suburb of Accra on Tuesday December 14, 2021 after staff of the hotel informed police.
She was rushed to the Police Hospital in Accra after the necessary protocols but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival
“So far, two people (names withheld) are currently in custody helping police investigations,” the statement signed by ACP Kwesi Ofori, Director-Deneral of Public Affairs said.
Though the family members of the late US Instagram model have kicked against performing her autopsy in Ghana because they say they cannot trust the integrity of the exercise and Ghanaian, the police said they have held a virtual meeting with the family to “officially inform them of the investigations being conducted into the circumstances leading to her death” having conducted an autopsy on 29 December 2021.
“We await the full autopsy report, including toxicology and histopathology examinations,” the statement added.
Police therefore assured the public and the US as well as the family that police will conduct thorough investigation into the death to establish the cause.
