The mangled Picanto car after the accident
Two persons, both cousins from the Gomda family of Yendi, died last Saturday on the Tamale to Yendi highway in a head-on collision between their Picanto car and a MASLOC branded minibus.
The deceased, who have since been buried, were traveling to Yendi to attend a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred.
An eyewitness told journalists that the salon car attempted to dodge a pothole on the highway and in the process veered off to the opposite lane and collided with the approaching minibus.
The injured passengers onboard the minibus were rushed to the Yendi Hospital for treatment. Police have commenced investigations.
