The deceased persons have been identified as Elijah Asante aged 47, a supermarket attendant and 60 year old, Jude Kwashie Sekufe.

Asante, according to witnesses, was shot in the thigh and neck while he tried to escape with their daily sales at Borkorborkor when three armed men attacked the supermarket around 7pm while Mr Sekufe on the other hand was hit by a stray bullet when two other armed robbers attacked a mobile money merchant and were shooting sporadically.

Both died on the spot after the attack.

The police are yet to arrest the suspected armed robbers who committed the act.

Witnesses told the paper at the scene that the three unidentified armed men; two in face masks and wielding weapons suspected to be AK 47 rifles, and driving an unregistered saloon car attacked the supermarket around 7pm.

In the process, the owner of the supermarket together with five of his attendants started to run for their lives.

One of the armed robbers who saw Asante fleeing with the money bag, shot him twice; one in the neck and the other in thigh and went ahead to snatch the money from him.

They all bolted in a Hollywood style after that.

Witnesses said the act which took less than three minutes made other residents ran helter-skelter for their lives upon hearing the gunshots.

Asante was rushed to a nearby hospital and was clinically confirmed dead on arrival.

Around 8:30pm that same day, two other suspected armed robbers using unregistered motorbike attacked a mobile money merchant at Odorkor-Busia junction.

Witnesses claimed the armed men who were all masked upon reaching the shop of the victim started shooting sporadically after ordering the attendant to surrender all her money.

They took an amount of GH¢8,000 and an unspecified amount of money on E-Cash phone.

In the course of their shooting, a stray bullet hit Sekufe on the head and he died on the spot.
