2 Madagascar MPs Die From Covid-19, 25 Others Infected

Two lawmakers in Madagascar have died from coronavirus.

About 25 others have been infected by the virus.

President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, made this known.

Madagascar has been at the forefront of championing a cure for the deadly virus out of the African continent with the production of Covid-Organics Tonic.

The potential benefits of COVID-Organics, derived from artemisia, a plant with proven efficacy in malaria treatment — and other indigenous herbs, was said to be the ultimate cure for the virus.

The President says one member of the Senate and one deputy had died after getting infected with COVID-19 while 11 other deputies and 14 senators tested positive to the virus.

Rajoelina on July 5 placed its capital Antananarivo under a fresh lockdown following a new surge in infections, two months after the restrictions were eased.

It has recorded 2,573 infections including 35 deaths with the government estimating that the peak will not be reached until the end of August.

It would be recalled that Madagascar was to sell a shipment of the virus curing tonic to Nigeria at the peak of the virus surge.
