2 Robbers Arrested At Sawla

Police in Salwa Tuna Kalba district of the Savannah region, have arrested two suspected armed robbers.

On September 18, 2019 at about 4:00 pm, the operation conquer fist team stationed at Sawla arrested Mustapha Mumuni, aged 22 and Ali Bukari, aged 20 , with a black Apsonic Auroba motor bike with registration no. M-19-UW-5099.

The patrol team on Sawla – Tuna highway where robbers have been attacking motorists plying the route spotted the two suspects at a spot where some motorist were robbed on Monday, 16th September, 2019 and upon on seeing the police, they turned and sped off.

The suspects were however given a chase and subsequently arrested.

A search conducted on them on the spot revealed cash in separate wraps in their pockets as well as five mobile phones made up of four Tecnos, one Infinix .

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Yusif Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DGN Online, said at the district commander’s office the money was counted and it amounted to GH¢ 939.00.

According to him, It was detected that the Infinix note 3 pro had pictures of one Abass Gumah of Bole who on the 13th day of September at about 9.10 pm reported to have been robbed of cash amount of GH¢10,251, his Infinix note 3 pro.

Suspect Ali Bukari took police to his house at Tuna and a search conducted in his room revealed a Jack knife, a dagger, a go to hell metal, two pairs of motorbike mirrors, two mobile phones and two covers, an ear piece and a metal whip.

He said police will conduct further investigations into the matter and arraign the suspect before court.
