TWENTY SUSPECTED criminals have been nabbed by the Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Police in the Ashanti Region during a major swoop.
The suspects were apprehended at known criminal hideouts in Krofrom, Tafo Magazine, Tafo Nhyiaeso, Ahwiaa and Pankrono, all in Kumasi.
The police operation was aimed at reducing violent crimes in Kumasi. It was carried out at 6:30am on April 20, 2024, a police statement disclosed.
The report did not mention the names of the 20 arrested suspects. However, it said the suspects would be screened.
“Suspects are retained and are being screened, those found culpable will be arraigned before the court,” part of the police document disclosed.
According to the statement, the police also found dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, also known as ‘Ganja’ on the suspects.
“Twenty suspects were arrested together with various quantities of dried plant materials suspected to be Indian hemp and blisters of Tramadol. Exhibits retained for further action,” the Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Police statement, sighted by the DAILY GUIDE, concluded.
