2023 GEIC Award Nominations Out

Nominations for the 2023 edition of the annual Ghana Event Industry Conference (GEIC) awards powered by the Event Vendors Association of Ghana (EVAG) have been released.

According to organisers, this year’s awards, which marks its fifth anniversary, will celebrate exceptional stakeholders within the hospitality value chain. These stakeholders have throughout the inception of the awards scheme contributed to the development of the art and tourism sector in the country.

Speaking to NewsOne, EVAG President, Kate Hassan, indicated that this year’s awards “is set for November 15, 2023. It is under the theme “Adaptability and Implementation,” which speaks about stakeholders’ challenges. EVAG will have a variety of event activities including a two-day conference scheduled in Takoradi from November 7 to 8, 2023, with stakeholders as resource persons in the tourism and business space.”

“We are poised to organise the most impressive event to position the industry on the international map this year. This is with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and the Ghana Tourism Authority together with our partners,” she stated.

She added that ahead of the December GH Events launched by the Ghana Tourism Authority, the association, as part of its mandate to equip members on customer service practices, will organise a workshop and conference with some industry stakeholders on strategies to improve service delivery.

The list of nominees include, Osei Douglas live, Afro Culture Events, Sammy Kumah, Live Weddings with Kwaku, and Traditional Wedding Gh, who were nominated for Best Event Blogger category.

For the Best Live Band Group category; Lipstick Queens, Nkyinkyim Band and Arkband were nominated.  The Best Event DJ category has DJ Paa Kwesi, DJ Nyarko, DJ Adom, DJ Ernie, and DJ Abizzy competing.

Purple Oyster Events, Masab Events, Xceedmac Events, and Ernesang were also nominated in the Best Event Coordinator category.

The Best Event Drink Supplier also captured Chill and Serve Gh, Elite Professionals, and Bottlecraft Rental as the nominees.

Other nominated categories include Best Events Local Drink and Snacks Vendor, Best Event Stylist/Decorator, Best Event Mobile Bar/Cocktail Supplier, Best Event Make-up Artist, Best Event Hairstylist and Best Event Outfit Designer (male category), etc.
