26 Suspected Internet Fraudsters Arrested At Kasoa

The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested some 26 persons suspected to be internet fraudsters popularly known as Sakawa.

The suspects includes 24 males and 2 females arrested by the police based on intelligence gathered and they were arrested at Ironcity, a suburb of Kasoa from a three different houses occupied by them.

During the raid at the houses, the police retrieved 31 laptops, 26 assorted mobile phones, 3 machetes and some dried leaves suspected to be cannabis including some toffees suspected to be containing cannabis.

In an interview with DCOP Okyere Boapeah, the Central East Regional Commander noted that, the suspects are currently been screened for the various suspicious activities and will later process them to court for prosecution.

According to him, the Central East Regional Police command is poised to ensuring drastic reduction of crime within Kasoa and its environs.

He therefore admonished Ghanaian landlords who rent out their apartments to foreigners particularly Nigerians to conduct proper background checks on them including finding out about their eligibility status from the immigration service before houses are rented to the foreigners.
