About 32 drivers have been captured by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD’s) closed circuit television (CCTV) devices mounted at various points within the Accra Metropolis for flouting traffic regulations.
The devices, mounted at various areas within the Region was operationalised to capture drivers who flouted road regulations between November 28 and 30, 2021 in certain parts of the city.
They were captured for various offences such as jumping red light, causing road obstruction, causing danger to other road users, neglecting road markings and reversing on a major road.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Victor Dosoo, told the media that all owners of vehicles with these reported registration numbers are to report at the head offices of the Police MTTD at Accra central for further investigations.
The offending vehicles captured on the device on November 30, were a green Nissan Frontier with the registration number GE 622 W, silver Hyundai Sonata with the registration number GT 354 17, grey Honda Civic with the registration number GE 9448 20, Silver Mercedez Benz with the registration number DV 7965 D, ash Toyota Corolla with the registration number GR 559 11 and A blue Hyundai Tucson with the registration number GX 413 20.
Others included a white Toyota Rav 4 with the registration number GT 356 09, green Opel Zafira with the registration number GG 1256 15, black SM5 Samsung with the registration number GR 6763 1117, Gold Mitsubishi Pajero with the registration number EN 1318 20, an ash Toyota Vitz with the registration number GG 1729 19 and black Land Cruiser Prado with the registration number GN 4222 10.
Seven other vehicles captured on November 29, 2021 were a black Toyota Prado with the registration number GE 1001 11, dark grey Ford Ranger with the registration number GS 4890 11, black Toyota Camry with the registration number DV 1436 D, a red Toyota Corolla with the registration number GE 562 17, a grey Nissan Pathfinder with the registration number GR 797 14, white Hyundai Tucson with the registration number GW 4001 14 and white Fiat with the registration number NR 1 19.
Some others captured on the device were a wine Hyundai Tucson with the registration number GS 775 18, grey Nissan with the registration number GW 6126 17, blue Toyota Corolla with the registration number GW 4355 17, blue-black Hyundai Elantra with the registration number GE 415 16, white Nissan Civilian with the registration number GS 217 16 and an ash Toyota Corolla with the registration number DV 2138 C.
The others are a grey Toyota Camry with the registration number GT 3517 14, black Honda CR-V with the registration number GS 1948 17, white Ford with the registration number GE 7854 18, grey Mercedes Benz C250 with the registration number GR 8680 16, black KIA Morning with the registration number GS 7548 19, black Chevrolet Malibu with the registration number GE 3413 19 and an ash Toyota Vitz with the registration number GC 203 20.
