5 Managers Of Retail Outlets Grabbed Over Tax Evasion 

Five Managers of top retail outlets in the capital have been arrested by officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for tax evasion.
They were arrested for failing to issue or hook onto the Commissioner General’s Certified Invoice system.
They are Palace Mall, Second Cup, Sneda, China mall and Shoprite.
According to GRA, out of the 50 businesses hooked up to the system in a pilot phase, only eight out of them are not complying.
Speaking to the media, the Commissioner of Domestic Tax Revenue Division of GRA, Edward Appenteng Gyamerah said the move forms part of efforts to meet the government’s revenue target for 2023.
Mr. Appenteng Gyamerah cautioned businesses who are flouting the law to desist from it
He therefire urged them to pay and file tax returns.
Area Enforcement Head of Accra Central, Joseph Annan mentioned that the culprits have been taken to the Ministry Police Station for their statements and for further prosecution.
