FIVE SUSPECTED armed robbers are languishing in cells for terrorizing residents of Ada and its environs.
The suspects were arrested following a swoop conducted by the Ada Divisional Police Command.
Three locally manufactured pistols, two pliers and cutters, a claw hammer and four mobile phones were retrieved from the suspects as exhibits.
Confirming the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent George Andrew Kumah, who is the Ada Divisional Police Commander, said via telephone that “we are on the heels of the remaining suspects who escaped arrest during the swoop.”
According to the commander, the police would be organising identification parade to screen the suspects.
He said the police would continue to clamp down on criminal activities and ensure maintenance of law and order. He urged the public to continue to supply the police with the activities of criminals.
In recent times, residents of Kasseh and its surrounding communities have been complaining about upsurge in insecurity in the area.
According to a statement issued by Ada Development Network, a civil society group in Ada, the group condemned the attacks and urged the police to intensify their patrols.
Besides, they offered to assist the police with information that would lead to the arrests of perpetrators of crime.
