The Deputy Energy Minister who is also the parliamentary candidate for the Karaga Constituency, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has connected seven communities in Karaga to the national grid.

The communities include Gogu, Kunang, Kpobo, Gunayili, Namburugu, Shebo and Vogu.

Out of 166 communities in the Northern Region which have been earmarked for connection to the national grid, Karaga District has been allocated 20 communities of which seven have been completed and commissioned.

Under the phase two of the rural electrification project, 13 communities from the Karaga District will be benefitting from the project.

Dr. Mohammed Amin while addressing community members said the provision of electricity to the communities would enable students in the various communities to learn effectively at night and excel in their examinations.

“The use of lanterns at night by our brothers and sisters to study will be a thing of the past with the introduction of electricity in their communities.”

He noted that the electricity in the communities would create job opportunities for the youth in the district to be able to earn some money to feed their families.

Dr. Amin assured the people of Karaga Constituency that he would provide mechanized boreholes to some selected communities to solve the water crisis in the district.

He urged the people of Karaga to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) come 2020, for continuous developmental projects in the constituency.
