Maameyaa Wells
At just nine years old, Ghanaian dancer and young humanitarian Maameyaa Wells is expanding her creative journey into music, emerging as one of the youngest female rappers in the country with a message-driven six-track Extended Play (EP).
The talented youngster, who has already gained attention for her dance abilities and humanitarian work, has released her debut project titled ‘I’M Money.’
The EP features six songs — ‘Be Content’, ‘I’M Money’, ‘Stay Hard’, ‘Cyber Bullying’, ‘Together We Stand’, and ‘Backbiting’.
Unlike projects focused solely on entertainment, the debut offering tackles issues affecting young people and society, including contentment, perseverance, cyberbullying, unity and the negative effects of backbiting.
The release further demonstrates her versatility as she moves beyond dance to use music as a tool to communicate positive messages to her generation.
Maameyaa Wells has also been active on the humanitarian front. On February 14, 2026, she used her first earnings of GH¢14,000 to provide books and educational materials as well as feed more than 300 people on the streets of Madina, around Zongo Junction.
On May 22, 2026, she distributed 500 sanitary pads to students at the La Nkwantanang Cluster of Schools in Madina, as part of an initiative to promote menstrual hygiene, dignity and confidence among young girls.
Her humanitarian activities are funded through earnings from her dance performances and online activities, with support from her parents.
She is recognised as the first Ghanaian child dancer to teach a dance class in the United States, following a dance session she hosted in Houston, Texas, at Afrirock.
With the release of ‘I’M Money,’ Maameyaa Wells hopes to inspire children and young people to use their talents positively while speaking openly about issues affecting society.
