A slender point of one, separated perennial rivals-Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA) and their Adisadel College (Santa Clausians) counterparts in the 3rd Jonah Cup Golf Challenge at the Celebrity Golf Club, Sakumono on Saturday.

The win, from a total point of 30 (15.5-14.5), takes MOBA trophy haul to two, having won the maiden edition with their bitterest rivals avenging the defeat last year.

Notwithstanding the loss, the Santa Clausians resorted to wild chants in an attempt to distract the winners, but their chants were not as loud to over ride MOBA’s (Adisco Sakabo…, Yafa no koko) literally meaning ‘unworthy Adisco, we lifted the trophy without struggle.’

CEO of Mobus Ghana, Kojo Ansah in his address suggested a standing committee to ensure the competition which is gaining roots becomes an annual and a legacy event.

Besides the bragging rights, MOBA received a giant trophy and the latest edition of Samsung curved flat screen television.

MOBA was led by Ghana Golf Association (GGA) president Mike Aggrey and other crack golfers like Frank Tackie, Smyley Bannerman, John Fiam-Coblavie and Larry Chinebuah.

Adisco paraded golfers like Sir Sam Jonah, David Atuwo, Albert Brock, Eric K Addo Mensah and Prince Kofi Amoabeng.

Jingak Chung, CEO of Samsung West Africa Limited stated that the sponsorship was part of his company’s support to the development of golf in the country.
The competition was sponsored by Samsung West Africa Limited and Mobus (Ghana).
