The 56,000 NHIS registrants whose names have been deleted from the electoral roll will have the opportunity to re-register beginning Monday July 18, the Electoral Commission has said.
The exercise comes after the EC announced Tuesday that they have deleted the said names following an order by the Supreme Court.
Addressing the media at a press conference in Accra Wednesday, the director of electoral services of the commission Samuel Tetteh noted that the re-registration exercise will last for ten days.
He said the commission is hopeful that individuals who have been affected by the deletion will show up and have their names back on the register.
The order to delete NHIS registrants from the roll was sparked by a protracted controversy over the credibility of the register going into the 2016 elections.
