MUSIGA Organises Peace Walk In Ho, Koforidua

Members of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) have organised a peace walk and forum in Ho and Koforidua as a contribution of their quota towards achieving a peaceful election 2016.

The peace walk and forum which was sponsored by Star-Ghana saw many people from various organisations, including political party representatives in participation.

In Ho, the walk took the participants through the principal streets of the city and ended at the Centre for National Culture (CNC).

Addressing participants at the peace forum soon after the peace walk, the Volta Regional Director for the CNC, Emmanuel Quao, underscored the need to preach peace as a pre-requisite tool for national development.

He stated that “as concerned citizens of Ghana and as musicians, it is necessary to preach peace so as to ensure a peaceful election 2016.”

Mr Quao called on the musicians to be at the vanguard for the peace crusade, adding that “if there is no peace no one can work and that would affect our national life.”

In Koforidua, the Regional Police Commander, Supt Richardson Kumeko, who addressed the participants at the forum, assured them of the readiness of the police to maintain law and order.

He called on Ghanaians to be law abiding to ensure peaceful and credible elections.
