Cristiano Ronaldo Joins UFC

The two biggest egos in world sport collided in the fearsome octagon ring as Real Madrid and Portugal superstar fought UFC megastar Conor McGregor in a bloody battle in Las Vegas.

We wish the above statement were true but in actual fact, the two shared a joke or two as the Portugal captain joined the feisty Irishman in his preparations for UFC 202, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The former UFC champion posted a picture of the two together on his Instagram with the caption reading: “My brother Ronaldo dropped by the gym today! He is an animal.”

And McGregor, known as much for his lavish lifestyle as his destructive ability in the ring, posted another snap with the former Manchester United winger with the caption “Thank you @cristiano, much respect! I will see you for that Forbes number 1 spot next year.” in reference to the Portuguese sitting at the top of Forbes list for the richest sporting athletes.

Ronaldo is currently on an extended break after captaining Portugal to their first ever major international trophy and won’t be joining his Real Madrid teammates in the International Champions Cup.

In fact, the 31-year-old revealed that the knee injury that cut short his Euro 2016 final, has put him out of the UEFA Supercup match against Sevilla on August 9th.

He told Portuguese media: “I am completely ruled out for the ninth because my return date is the 10th, there is no chance.”
