Ali Mohammed and Yaw Kwarshie in police custody
Two onion sellers are in the grips of the police for allegedly attacking and robbing a woman at Anyaa in the Ga Central municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects are Ali Mohammed aka Alifa, 23 years of age and Yaw Kwarshie aka Joe, 27.
The duo, reportedly using an unregistered motor bike, snatched the bag of the victim which contained assorted clothes valued at GH¢800 while on board a passenger bus.
They were given a hot chase and arrested by some good Samaritans at the Fan Milk junction area, near Ablekuma.
Confirming the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, DSP Christian Kpordji, Anyaa District Commander, said the incident occurred on July 22, 2016.
The victim was said to have come from Kpando in the Volta Region and heading towards Ablekuma to visit her daughter.
An eyewitness who saw the act used his private car to chase the suspects to Fan Milk junction.
As he and other motor riders were drawing closer to them, Mohammed allegedly pulled a knife on them.
Another witness who attempted to collect the knife from him reportedly had a cut in the right arm.
The two were eventually apprehended and later handed over to the police for investigation.
They will be processed for court if investigation is completed.
