Nii Ayittey Nunoo poses with the trophy at stake
A special football gala competition designed for the various Political Parties in the country is scheduled to rock the Accra Stadium this Saturday. Kick-off is 8am.
Arranged by Real Plan Foundation, the competition sought to bring eight political parties together in their respective party colours to drum home the message of peace ahead of the December 7 Polls.
It is also in commemoration of the anniversary celebration of the disabled in society.
To the organizers, proceeds of the anticipated exciting competition- 5 popular stand and 20 cedis VIP will go to support charity projects for destitutes and the disabled.
Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings’ NDP will take on Paa Kwesi Nduom’s PPP in the first game, while NDC face PNC in the second game. The third match will see Hassan Ayariga’s APC taking on CPP with GFP battling NPP in the fourth match.
CEO of Real Plan Foundation Nii Ayittey Nunoo explaining the reason for the peace match said “To send a strong signal to the whole world and Ghanaians in particular that elections is a game like football, there can be only one winner. We realized football is the passion of the nation hence soccer.”
“The message we want to put across is why should we fight each other when the leaders and executives of the various political parties can play football together. We want to tell the youth that there is no place like Ghana and it is only wise that we guard against the peace we are enjoying to make sure Ghana remains peaceful before, during and after the elections.”
Plan Foundation, which has been in existence for two years, as part of plans this year have purposed to put up an incubation centre for the destitute aimed at engaging them and serving as an employment for them.
