UDS Psychiatric Lecturer Found Dead

A psychiatric lecturer at the Dungu campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Dr Sore, was found dead at his residence at Kunye, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region.

The lecturer who is a renowned doctor at the Psychiatric Department of UDS went home and after three days, he never came out of his room, something his neighbours found strange; forcing them to call the police.

According to some neighbours who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE, Dr Sore once locked himself in the room for days and when it was forced opened, he got angry and questioned why someone should break into his room. The neighbours, this time round, decided to involve the police and when the police broke into the room, they found his lifeless body on the floor.

The body of the lecturer was decomposed and was sent to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for autopsy and preservation by the university authorities.

DAILY GUIDE understands that the lecturer was living in Canada with his wife and children before he relocated to the country some few years now to lecture at the university.

A source at the university confirmed the incident and said the university will make an official statement to the public at the right time.

The police are still investigating the matter to establish the cause of death.

Some students who spoke to DAILY GUIDE were shocked about the death of the lecturer, adding that he was one of the best on campus.

Efforts to reach university authorities proved futile, as everybody is quiet over the unfortunate incident.
