Africa’s most profitable and largest airline Ethiopian Airline was adjudged the Airline of the Year (International) at the 27th Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) held over the weekend at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
A citation presented to the airline read: “With an impressive and proactive approach to marketing and sales activities which are synonymous with your day to day operations, you have won some admirers in our team of evaluators.
“In the face of stiff competition from other airlines, you were deemed the deserving winner with your effective and revealing strategies which ultimately won you a place above your competitors (2014 total person uplift was 81.638 as against 108,350 in 2015.
“In a bid to keep your customers, you left no stone unturned by acquiring new state-of-the-art aircraft and by so doing opening up new destinations within the African continent and beyond with your newly acquired B787 and 777 model aircraft.
“You have operated over 7 decades and arguably the continent’s fastest growing and leading carrier unrivaled in efficiency. CIMG recognizes these sterling achievements and duly confers on Ethiopian Airlines, Airline of the Year (International) 2015.”
Genet Michael, General Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Ghana, who received the awards, expressed appreciation to CIMG for recognizing and awarding their hard work.
