Seniors golf tournament scheduled for November 26 and 27
All is set for the 28th Ghana Seniors Open scheduled to tee-off this weekend-November 26 and 27 at the Coconut Grove Golf Club, Elmina in the Central Region, Mike Aggrey, GGA president has said.
About 80 golfers are expected to battle for supremacy in the three categories-A-55 years and above, category B-65 years and above and category C-40 to 54 years.
The GGA boss said ahead of the competition that “Preparations have reached a pivotal position and we are expecting to host a great competition, indications are that signings are encouraging.
“The Course is set, the golfers are ready and we are hoping to translate our readiness into play.”
The Guest of Honour will be Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, president of Groupe Nduom and the presidential candidate for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).
He would be joined by established businessman, Sir Sam Jonah, Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, Frank Tackie, Esther Amedzro (The President of Ghana Ladies Golf Union), Aku Yabah, and Mike Aggrey himself, among others.
The 36-hole event has received massive support by way of sponsorship from Coconut Grove Hotel, Gold Fields, GN Life, Airtel, Sugar Sweet Factory, and Goil Ghana Limited, Cocoa Board and the Golf Development Board.
At stake are attractive prizes and goodies from the sponsors for golfers who will distinguish themselves in their respective categories.
