Krobo Youth Hail Nana Addo

Nana Akufo-Addo

THE Management of Kloma Hengme Association, a Krobo advocacy and Heritage organization and the Youth across the Kroboland in the Eastern Region have extend their warmest wishes to the President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election to the high office of President by the good people of Ghana.

The Krobo Youth from Upper Manya, Lower Manya and Yilo divisions in a statement issued and signed by the Group Secretary, Eric Tamatey Lawer said they were happy to hear that Nana Addo has won the Presidential race and wished him good success as he prepares to take up the responsibilities and challenges of the high office.

“We wish to assure you of our maximum co-operation not only to move Ghana forward in general but also to concert our efforts in bringing the much needed changes and improvements that Kroboland needs in particular.”

“You would have realized a general increase in the votes you garnered in the entire Krobo area at the just ended general elections as compared to the previous years as well as the historic feat your party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), chalked in Upper Manya-Krobo (Asesewa) where for the first time, the NPP has won the parliamentary seat (first of its kind in the entire Dangme area).”

“The Krobo area in general and Upper Manya Krobo in particular has a huge infrastructural deficit. Over 70% of roads in the area saw any major rehabilitation work over 50 years ago. For example, due to bad road network, a one-time active market at Sekesua has almost collapsed. The people chose to endorse you and elect a parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NPP to send a strong and a clear message that they urgently need development in the area. We therefore encourage you not to take for granted your huge electoral gains in the Krobo area but use it as a reference point to bring the much needed development that the area needs.”

“As a people, we would also like to encourage you to see to it that certain key infrastructural projects which were started by the Mahama-led administration in the Krobo area are completed and commissioned. These include the University of Environment and Sustainable Development at Somanya, the Oborpah Day Community Senior High School, as well as the ongoing Somanya-Odumase-Kpong highway and the Odumase-Oterkpolu road.”

“The group, however, would also like to bring to your attention that unemployment rate among our youth is very high in the Krobo area. We are therefore consequently calling on you to consider the Krobo region among the first places to start implementing the One-District-One-Factory policy to provide jobs for our people.”
