The Rainbow Trust Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working in partnership with Book Aid International, has donated assorted books and educational materials to the Abomosu Presbyterian and Catholic Schools.
The items, mainly supplementary books, would enable the pupils to sharpen their reading skills.
The donation forms part of a project initiated by the NGO to encourage pupils in the basic schools to read and enhance their academic performance.
At a short presentation ceremony at the school, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rainbow Trust, Joyce Phyllis Ampofo, disclosed that the NGO was engaged in educational projects for school children in deprived communities, especially those in the public schools.
She pointed out that her outfit intends to empower pupils through books and the educational materials to assist them achieve high academic laurels.
Assemblyman of Abomosu, Lawrence Arhin, seized the opportunity to appeal to corporate bodies, philanthropists and individuals in the educational sector to help the Rainbow Trust Foundation to reach out to school-children in deprived communities nationwide.
Headmistress of the school expressed gratitude to the NGO for gesture and said more the books and campaigns were needed to help the children.
