Kojo Antwi To Thrill Fans This Saturday

The highlife music maestro Kojo Antwi, aka Mr Music Man, is billed to stage a live musical concert this Saturday, December 24 at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

The show which is expected to attract hundreds of personalities, including families and friends of Kojo Antwi, BEATWAVES gathered, forms part of activities being organised to celebrate this year’s Christmas.

Kojo Antwi has promised to surprise the audience with a dramatic blend of traditional and contemporary highlife rhythms.

He will perform most of his favourite songs such as ‘Tom & Jerry’,  ‘Mr Groovy’, ‘Dadie Anoma’, ‘Mr Music Man’, ‘Akonoba’, ‘Medofo Pa’, ‘Densu’, among others.

Kojo’s songs are fused with a little bit of reggae, but with African influences, especially with regard to lovers’ rock and roots reggae. Without doubt, no one sings about love better than Kojo.

Singing in both English and Twi, Mr Music man has also worked with international stars like Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba and performed on many music platforms.

The show will also witness performances from some selected Ghanaian acts billed to perform alongside Mr Music Man.

With a remarkable 22 albums to his credit and many laurels, including West Africa Tourism Award, All Africa Music Awards, Kora Award and the Our Music Award under his belt, Kojo Antwi is a trusted authority in Ghanaian music.

Born Julius Kojo Antwi, the Afro-pop, highlife and reggae icon first released a music album as far back as 1986, and his last album ‘Mwaah’ was released in 2009.
