Beg Me Or I Sue You …Abetefi MP Warns A-Plus

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong, has denied ever running a civil servants payroll software which he used in stealing money from the state as alleged by musician Kwame A-Plus.

A-Plus in a Facebook post Wednesday alleged that a civil servants payroll software run by Mr Acheampong is using “ghost names” to rob the state of millions of taxpayers’ money monthly, adding some New Patriotic Party members who are aware are covering up the matter.

But a letter from the MP’s lawyers, Sory @ Law, to the musician dated February 2, 2017 said there is no iota of truth in the said social media publication which linked the MP to the said payroll software fraud.

The lawyers said the publication by A-Plus who has warned he would be critical of the Nana Akufo-Addo government, was deliberately calculated at exciting and or causing public disaffection for the MP “who by dint of hard work has earned the confidence of his people”.

“…Your publication without doubt, casts a slur on our clients’ reputation,” the lawyers said, adding, “Your publication was definitely made with malicious intent.”

The MP is consequently demanding a retraction of the said publication by A-Plus, as well as an unqualified apology to him for what his lawyers termed as “false insinuations” in the social media publication.

He threatened to take the necessary action against the musician, should he fail to retract and apologise for the said publication within 24 hours.
