Nii Okai Koi I, Chief of Akotoshie in the Ga East District, celebrated his birthday on Friday and receiveda kind gesture from telecommunication giant, MTN, who presented him with an MTN branded birthday cake.
This was part of the MTN’s social responsibility to put smiles on the faces of its customers and also celebrate deserving personalities in Ghana’s society.
The birthday celebration took place at the Kaneshie Palace in Accra, and this attracted other chiefs from Accra.
Nii Okai who congratulated MTN for the gesture told NEWS-ONE birthdays are a reminder to human beings to reflect on the purpose for which they were created and that one day they will account for their deeds on earth.
“Usually on my birthday, I pray to God and gather my friends and we chat, enjoy ourselves and think about the purpose for which we are on this earth,” he added.
Nii Okai also used the opportunity to caution Ghanaians to have a change in attitude. According to him, the country is where it is because of “our attitude.”
Ghanaians, he indicated, don’t respect time and the only time a Ghanaian is not late is when he or she is going for a visa interview. He also complained about how some persons throw rubbish around indiscriminately.
“I want to remind our political leaders who have been going to IMF for loans to think about Ghana first, considering the conditions that come with these loans,” he also added.
