The Regent of Dagbon Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Andan
The Regent of Dagbon Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Andani has endorsed the ‘One District –One Factory’ policy of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
The chief made the endorsement when the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, paid a courtesy call on him and the Bolin Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, regent of the Abudu Royal Gate of Dagbon, at Yendi in the Northern Region.
According to the regent, the policy can be used to reduce the unemployment rate in the region and create jobs for the youth in the region.
“We have already identified a land for the one district one factory policy.’
He indicated that the creation of jobs would discourage the youth from going to the south in search of non-existent jobs.
Kampakuya Naa pledged his support for the Northern Regional Minister and encouraged him to partner shareholders to maintain peace in the region.
Salifu Saeed, on his part, assured the people of Dagbon that President Nana Akufo-Addo would fulfill his promises to the people of the Northern Region.
According to the minister, the president intends to enhance the agriculture sector in the Northern Region to support farmers in order to create more jobs for men and women in the region.
The minister pleaded with the chiefs of Dagbon to allocate lands to investors, who intend to build factories and establish businesses in the region to create more job opportunities in the region.
Mr Saeed pleaded with the NPP youth in the region to stop the takeover of government properties because chiefs in the region were not happy with their conduct.
The Bolin Lana Mahamadu Abdulai, regent of the Abudu Royal Gate of Dagbon, also pledged his support to the Regional Minister in the promotion of peace in Dagbon.
He, however, appealed to the President, through the minister, to ensure that the education of the youth in Dagbon is enhanced.
The Abudu Regent indicated that the Yendi Municipality lacks potable water and appealed to the minister to assist them.
