Adentan Assembly Elects PM

The EC official at Adentan raises the arm of Joseph Boye Odai as the elected PM

The Adentan Municipal assembly on Wednesday elected Joseph Boye Odai as its new Presiding Member (PM).

Mr. Joseph Boye Odai who is also the Assembly Member for Adjiringanor electoral area in the Adentan Municipality was unanimously elected by the eighteen members of the assembly.

This gives him a hundred percent endorsement by the assembly beyond the two-third majority required by law.

The Adentan Municipal Assembly has been without a PM since January 2017 following the defeat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 7, 2016 polls which brought the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to power.

The new PM who is a private businessman and an astute politician, according to some of the assembly members, is very affable.

They claim that this virtue and his very good sense of judgment had won him the admiration of people within and out of his electoral area.

Speaking to the DAILY GUIDE, Joseph Boye  Odai expressed appreciation to the members of the assembly for endorsing him as their PM.

He assured that he would work to the best of his abilities to push the assembly’s development agenda further just as his predecessors had done.

Mr. Odai was, however, quick to also call for maximum cooperation from his colleague assembly members.

Gladys Addo Osei, Assembly Member for Ogbojo Electoral area who spoke to the DAILY GUIDE hoped that the business of the assembly would begin in earnest to help it achieve its targets.

She disclosed that a new Municipal Chief Executive would be equally elected for the municipality within the shortest possible period.
