ERIC NANA Agyeman-Prempeh, widely described as an unassuming person, has been appointed the Director General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) by President Akufo-Addo.
“Pursuant to Section 17 (1) of the National Disaster Management Organization Act, 2016 (Act 927), I hereby appoint you to act as the Director General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing council of the organization, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”
Part of the appointment letter, authored and signed by President Akufo-Addo, which was copied to the vice president, the chief of staff, the minister of interior and chief director, ministry if interior, read.
Ahafo Connection
Nana Agyeman-Prempeh’s appointment is considered by political pundits as key to the entire people in the Ahafo area, who played key roles in NPP’s 2016 electoral victory.
Reports indicate that most of the people from the Ahafo area have expressed satisfaction and thanks to President Akufo-Addo for nominating one of their kinsmen to occupy the enviable position in his administration.
Nana Agyeman Prempeh was the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano North in the Ashanti Region during ex-President Kufuor’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, where he was said to have carried out his duties in a professional manner.
Support For Party
The acting NADMO boss played important roles for the NPP during the 2016 electioneering campaign, where he served as a prominent member of the party’s campaign committee on local government and decentralization.
Nana Agyeman-Prempeh, who is considered as one of the luminaries in the local government system, is also considered as a team player, who will definitely be open to constructive criticisms and suggestions towards making NADMO better.
Some views sampled by this paper from the Ahafo Ano area indicated that the people have strong confidence in Nana Agyeman-Prempeh, who they described as a competent and hardworking person, who can change the face of NADMO within a short period.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has also appointed Mr. Abu Ramadan as the Deputy Director General of NADMO, where he is expected to bring on board his huge experience to support Nana Agyeman-Prempeh and other members to give the organisation a new facelift.
Nsenkyire Appointed
The president has also appointed a former Vice Chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, Kwabena Nsenkyire, who is very powerful in Kumasi, as the Ashanti Regional boss of NADMO. His appointment has also ignited jubilation in Kumasi.
In a short interview with the paper, Mr. Nsenkyire promised to work harder than ever to help bring glory to the NPP administration, thanking President Akufo-Addo for the great honour done to him.
The president, who has said publicly that he is in a great hurry to fulfill his campaign promises, has also named Lawrence Agyinsah as the Executive Director of the Ghana Export-Import Bank.
