Tema Initiates Restoration Agenda

THE NEWLY appointed Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Tema, Felix Mensah Nii Anang-la has promised unparalleled implementation of his vision dubbed ‘Tema Restoration Agenda’ to return Tema to its glorious past.

According to him, the initiative which will tackle all segments of the metropolis to revive the deteriorate state of the industrial city of Ghana will be one of the dominant features of his administration.

He said his mission was to restore the lost glory of Tema; listing critical challenges confronting the metropolis such as sewer problem, sanitation, education, health, indiscipline and security.

Anang-la called on residents to remain confident and steadfast in the ability of the present government to deliver on its promises, adding that the government has an unwavering commitment and resolve to move the nation to the next level.

He made the statement after he was confirmed as the MCE for Tema on Friday.

Out of the total number of 47 constituted Assembly Members, of which 32 were elected members, and the remaining 15, government appointees, 46, voted in favour, while only one voted against, representing 97.9 percent of the total valid votes cast.

He reiterated the President’s vision in “making Accra the cleanest city in Africa”, adding that, he is committed in towing the President’s vision, by ensuring proper sanitation in the Tema metropolis.

He called on the various Assembly Members to rally behind his appointment as MCE in attaining his vision.

He promised to be nonpartisan in his tenure as MCE, adding that he would give a listening ear to all issues pertaining to the well-being of Tema.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, pledged to support him in diverse ways, but, cautioned that, “My seat is not up for contest”.

According to him, he will fight with his last blood to protect his seat.
