MP Motivates BECE Candidates

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma Central, Ebenezer Nartey has donated 2,500 customized Mathematical sets to candidates who will sit for the Basic Education Certificate of Examination (BECE) in the 20 public schools in his constituency.

The MP also presented GH¢500 each to the four Circuit Supervisors and 20 head teachers to enhance effective monitoring and evaluation during the BECE.

He also donated GH¢500 to each JHS teacher in the 20 basic schools.

The legislator further indicated that he has special packages for all candidates who would score six ones in the BECE.

“I want to ensure that both officers, teachers and pupils alike play their respective roles in a manner that will help the candidates to score the needed grades we have committed ourselves to achieving in 2017,” he stated.

Mr. Narty made the presentation at his maiden encounter with the staff and pupils from the basic schools in Ablekuma Central at the forecourt of the Blacksmith’s Cluster of School at Lartebiokoshie, Accra on Tuesday.

The MP called on parents to collaborate with teachers and other players to help make 2017 ‘Operation 50% six ones’ achievable.

He also urged all teachers to work hard as the exams draw closer.

A representative of the Circuit Supervisors, Martin Apima thanked the MP for the donation, stressing that it would enable them reach their targets.

Some of the candidates, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, averred that they were happy to meet with their legislator.
