Prospective pilgrims for this year’s Hajj in Accra yesterday went through a health screening exercise at the Hajj Village near the Kotoka International Airport.
Hundreds of persons, old and young, male and female trooped to the Hajj Village in response to an advertisement for prospective pilgrims to undergo health screening.
Dr Zakaria Seidu, Head of Medicals, who had completed a successful similar exercise in the Northern parts of the country, was elated about the turnout of pilgrims.
Before the commencement of the programme, one of the nurses took the pilgrims through the proper way of washing the hands, which, as Dr Zakaria said, helps in the elimination of many diseases.
Yellow cards were also issued to pilgrims who were inoculated.
