The Let’s Go Africa Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and its partners will on July 28, this year, organize a special symposium aimed at finding solutions to Ghana’s infrastructural challenges.

Executive Director of Let’s Go Africa Foundation, said the symposium will be held at the Engineers Center located at Roman Ridge in Accra under the theme: “Innovative Infrastructure Development, Financing and Poverty Alleviation in Ghana Conference.”
“The Lets Go Africa Foundation (LGAF), in partnership with local institutions, including the Ghana Institute of Planners, the Ghana Institution of Engineers, the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, other professionals and a Development group, Jede Associates, are holding this forum which coincidentally follows the recent Ghana Infrastructure Report Card prepared by a high professional leadership of the Ghana Institution of Engineers,” it announced.
According to the release, “The Lets Go Africa Foundation believes that to attract financing in an infrastructure plan, bankable projects need to be structured as attractive investment opportunities, providing risk-return profiles at an early stage to highlight return expectations and liabilities.”
The conference will examine the major and minor infrastructure projects and priorities of the government with general development risks, including liabilities in land acquisition, project management and contracting and how risk mitigation and innovative financing mechanism can navigate expected risks, it said.
The release added that “the event comprising lectures, exhibits and demonstrations will review a wide range of issues in a development cycle from land rights, PPPs, sewage, housing, transportation and inner cities upgrading exercises Under each of these development processes, innovative financial models will be examined to promote infrastructure and poverty alleviation.”
It disclosed that “Hon. Yaw Osafo Maafo, a distinguished Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineers is the guest of honour, while Hon Eugene Boakye Antwi, the Deputy Minister of Works and Housing, representing the Infrastructure Sub-Sector, is the keynote speaker.”
