Ethiopian Airlines was over the weekend adjudged the Best Airline in Ghana at the second Ghana National Aviation Awards held Friday in Accra.
The airline also won two other awards – Best International Airline of the year and Best African Airline of the year.
Deputy Minister of Aviation, Kwabena Okyere-Darko, presented the awards to the Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Ghana, Genet W. Michael.
In a speech, the Deputy Minister said the Government of Ghana had restructured the industry for better results.
He cited the removal of VAT on domestic ticket which has yielded a 23 percent increase in Domestic Air Travel in the first five months of 2017.
The event, supported by the Ministry of Aviation and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), was organised by NinetyEight Media. It was graced by players in the industry.
Ms Michael expressed appreciation to all patrons of Ethiopian Airlines.
“The passengers are our best promoters. They have shown confidence in our product.”
She also thanked the organizers of the Ghana National Aviation Awards.
