Aboagye Didieye Is Dead

Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye, former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Afram Plains North in the Eastern Region, is reported to have died at the SSNIT Hospital in Accra on Saturday evening after a short illness.

An executive of the NDC in the constituency, who disclosed this to DAILY GUIDE on Sunday, said the former legislator was admitted to the hospital for an undisclosed ailment.

The former NDC legislator threatened legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) after he lost to Betty Krosby Mensah, a former Deputy Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), who is now the Member of Parliament for the area.

The deceased in November 21 2015 contested against five other contenders in the primaries namely, Windham Emil Afram, who got 687 votes, Evans Apraku, 431 votes, Kpeli Walase, 2115 votes and Adamu Musah, 703.

He polled 2,529 votes, representing 27.70 percent of the total votes while the winner, Betty Krosby Mensah, polled 2,664 votes, representing 29.18 percent of the votes.

He subsequently accused the EC of mishandling the voting process in the constituency which he claimed led to his defeat.

The former MP, a Presbyterian, who hailed from Bomasarefo in the Eastern Region, was born on November 23, 1976.

He pursed Diploma in Network Engineering (Network and Software) National Institute of Information Technology, India in 2004.

The former ICT Specialist worked at Ultra Sonographer, Adorn Clinic, Accra, before he represented the constituents in Parliament.

He was survived by the wife and child.
