Afua’s ‘Walk To Remember’ At Miss World Top Model

Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi on Miss World Top Model Runway

Afua Asieduwaa Akrofi, Ghana’s representative at the ongoing Miss World pageant, has described her experience modelling at the Miss World Top Model show as “a walk to remember”.

Even though she missed out winning a position in the top model category, fingers are still crossed ahead of the pageant’s finale on Saturday.

Sourced told NEWS-ONE she actually represented her country very well on the runway.

“This is definitely a walk to remember … I slay. Let’s continue to vote,” she said after the show.

One hundred and eighteen Miss World contestants modelled in beautiful gowns made by designers from around the world at the modelling show held at the Phoenix Island Resort in Sanya, China, early this week.

The winner, who got a fast-track through to the top 40 in the final, was awarded to Miss Nigeria, while second place went to Miss Thailand and Miss Croatia coming third.

Afua Asieduwaa is hopeful to make her country proud at the grand finale. But she needed an extra support on social media via voting by the public to help her progress in the contest in the ‘Head-To-Head Challenge’.

The ‘Head-To-Head Challenge’ was to give greater emphasis on social media and interactivity. The challenge was to select 20 out of the top 40 contestants. Voting ended on November 15.

As of Wednesday night, it was not clear the position Ghana was occupying in the public votes. But Miss Ghana organisers say there is hope.
