CHRIST EMBASSY, a Ghana-based Christian denomination, under the auspices of the Believers’ Loveworld Incorporation (BLW), observed the International Day of Service on Saturday, 2nd December.
The event, dubbed ‘The BLW International Day of Service 2017,’ is in commemoration of the birthday of the founder of the church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – who turns 54 on 7th December, 2017 as well as the 30th Anniversary celebration of BLW Incorporation.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the Chairperson of the BLW International Day of Service, Deaconess Sarah Esi Koomson, said each year the church sets aside a day to render service to the community by sharing Christ’s love with others.
She said, “Christ Embassy is not only about preaching the gospel, but as part of our social responsibility, we give back to society in diverse ways and the celebration of this day is no exception.
“As part of our duty in transforming lives by preaching the gospel, we observe this special celebration to show Christ’s love to others by providing people’s needs and rendering services to others.”
Some of the activities include hospital and clinic cleaning, elderly home cleaning and donation of items, classroom painting, free water supply, visits to orphanage and prisons and fresh meal donation to street children.
