The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has applauded BBnZ Live, one of the country’s outstanding record labels, for its enterprising efforts in pushing Ghanaian music to the world.
According to the President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour, known in the music scene as Obour, MUSIGA is impressed with what BBnZ has so far been doing for Ghana’s music industry.
He hinted that the union would like to collaborate with BBnZ on various projects to further improve standards in Ghanaian music industry, as well as improving the living standard of musicians.
Obour was speaking on Tuesday when the leadership of MUSIGA paid a courtesy call on the management of BBnZ Live in Accra. Amid discussions were how best the two organisations can work together to promote the works of Ghanaian artistes on the international music market.
“Our visit is to congratulate BBnZ Live for the great works you have been doing in the music industry and to let you know that your good deeds have been recognised. We have seen beyond what you have done with E.L and we have seen you have great plans for the industry,” he added.
He appealed to the management of BBnZ Live to collaborate with the union in supporting the Aged Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and other initiatives of the union.
The CEO of BBnZ Live, Alvin Bekoe, on his part, indicated that BBnZ Live which has partnership with some international organisations and renowned international artistes would continue to market Ghanaian music on the global music market.
He described his outfit as a creative arts organisation which deals with the entire arts forms although their launch pad has been music. He has disclosed that BBnZ Live is currently working on a number of international projects with some international artistes to help promote and market Ghanaian music out there.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Western Group, publishers of Ghana’s favourite newspaper, DAILY GUIDE, Kwame Blay, also stressed that BBnZ Live is ever ready to support MUSIGA in the development of the Ghanaian music industry.
According to him, BBnZ Live has a number of facilities such as conference hall for meetings, rehearsal studios, space for conferences and a bar for album launches, listening parties, among others.
He added that BBnZ intends to expand its operations in the media space by commencing its radio and television stations in January next year.
Present at the meeting were Bessa Simons, the 1st Vice President of MUSIGA, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, Director of Special Projects & Communications and Radnor Asafo-Adjei of the Membership Department of MUSIGA. Others were E.L and Lil Shaker, who are all on the BBnZ Live label.
