Gunmen Kill Four At Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo

 

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that some eight unidentified gunmen on four motorbikes opened fire at Nanjon 1 Market Center in the Bunkpurugu-yunyoo District of the Northern Region, killing four men and injuring 10 others.

Two men died on the spot.

The 10 persons, who sustained various degrees of injury, were rushed to the Bindi Hospital.

Reports from the Northern Regional Police Command indicate that a combined team of police and military personnel was quickly deployed to the area.

The gunmen sped off on their motorbikes after they committed the crime at Najong 1 community.

Residents were not able to identify the gunmen because the shooting happened suddenly in the dark.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

The Northern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong told DAILY GUIDE that the police headquarters in Accra has deployed police from the Homicide Department of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to the area to assist in investigations.

DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong called on the general public, especially residents of Najong 1, to provide the police with information to help arrest and prosecute the suspects.
